About this project
After the success of our first-generation minimalist Pickleball scoring unit, designed with elegant aesthetics, ergonomic usability, and multiple mounting options (handheld, wall-mounted, or tripod-mounted), our client received overwhelming positive feedback from early market testing. Based on these insights, we developed a completely new, futuristic version of the product from the ground up.
What we did
Industrial design & concept development: Redesigned the product with a modern and dynamic aesthetic, providing multiple industrial design concepts. The final design features refined ergonomics, improved usability, and a sleek, high-tech look aligned with the brand identity.
Electronics & logic design: Engineered the full system architecture, created the scoreboard logic, and developed schematics and PCB design from scratch to support the new features.
Prototyping & validation: Built a high-quality 3D printed MVP prototype, fabricated and validated the custom PCBs, and ensured all components fit and functioned flawlessly.
Firmware development: Developed and delivered fully documented firmware, including game logic, score tracking, and user settings, enabling reliable and intuitive gameplay updates.
Smart accessory design: Introduced a smart wearable wristband module that players strap to their wrist, bicep, or waist, allowing them to update scores wirelessly with a single button press, syncing instantly with the scoreboard.
From concept sketches to a fully functional MVP, we built a complete connected ecosystem for pickleball score tracking, combining smart hardware, software, and human-centered design. We are now preparing for mass production of the new system.
