In this project, we designed a universal kitchen knife attachment that helps users cut bread into uniform slices with consistent thickness – offering a professional touch to everyday kitchen tasks.

What We Did:

• Concept & Functional Design: We developed a compact, easy-to-use knife attachment that slides smoothly over the loaf, guiding each cut for perfectly even slices.
• Injection Molding–Ready Design: The attachment was carefully designed following plastic injection molding guidelines, ensuring it can be manufactured efficiently and withstand regular kitchen use.
• Prototyping & Testing: We created a 3D printed proof of concept (POC) and a functional prototype, which successfully demonstrated the product’s accuracy, producing consistently even bread slices even in the prototype stage.

This project highlights our ability to turn a simple everyday problem into a practical, manufacturable, and user-friendly kitchen innovation, combining thoughtful design with engineering precision.
