Airsoft Gun Housing VMC

About this project
An existing airsoft gun housing was originally designed for 3D printing. The goal was to make it fully compatible with CNC machining (VMC) while maintaining structural integrity, performance, and aesthetics.
What we did
Design optimization for CNC: Re-engineered the 3D print based design for CNC requirements, ensuring proper tool paths, tolerances, and manufacturability in aluminum.
Functional prototyping: Machined several prototypes from aluminum on a VMC to validate precision, fitment, and performance under realistic handling conditions.
Weight reduction: Reduced overall housing weight through structural analysis and iterative refinement, without compromising strength or durability.
Improved assembly design: Simplified assembly and disassembly, making the product easier to maintain and upgrade.
This project reflects our mechanical optimization, CNC manufacturing, and functional prototyping work, transforming a 3D print concept into a production-ready, precision-engineered product.
