About this project
The Hobby Helper is an all-in-one tool designed for miniature war gamers, modelers, and hobbyists who want better control, organization, and precision in their creative work. The client wanted essential hobby tools combined into a single, ergonomic solution, and we brought that vision to life.
What we did
Dual-function design: Combines a painting handle and a pin vice, letting users securely grip miniature models for detailed painting, drill precision holes with interchangeable bits, and swap parts or figures with minimal effort.
Complete product development: Enclosure design for ease of assembly and durability, an internal mechanism for smooth bit swapping and secure holding, and ergonomics for long painting or modeling sessions without hand fatigue.
Injection molding ready: The final design was fully optimized for plastic injection molding, ensuring it can be manufactured efficiently at scale.
Functional prototyping: A 3D printed prototype tested the product’s functionality, comfort, and bit-holding performance, resulting in a validated design ready for production.
This project demonstrates our ability to develop user-focused tools that combine practicality, innovation, and manufacturability, perfect for niche markets with passionate communities.
