The Hobby Helper is an innovative, all-in-one tool designed specifically for miniature war gamers, modelers, and hobbyists who want better control, organization, and precision in their creative work. The client’s vision was to combine essential hobby tools into a single, ergonomic solution — and we brought that vision to life.

What We Did:

• Dual-Function Design: The Hobby Helper combines the features of a painting handle and a pin vice, enabling users to:

  • Securely grip miniature models for detailed painting

  • Drill precision holes into models using interchangeable bits

  • Easily remove and replace different parts or figures with minimal effort

• Complete Product Development: We handled the full product design, including:

  • Enclosure design for ease of assembly and durability

  • Internal mechanism for smooth bit swapping and secure holding

  • Ergonomics for long painting or modeling sessions without hand fatigue

• Injection Molding–Ready: The final design was fully optimized for plastic injection molding, ensuring it can be manufactured efficiently at scale.

• Functional Prototyping: We created a 3D printed prototype to test the product’s functionality, comfort, and bit-holding performance — resulting in a validated design ready for production.
