Injection Molding in India: A China Plus One Manufacturing Partner for US Brands
Plastics from India currently carry a genuinely favorable US tariff position, well below the stacked duties on Chinese-origin parts and molds. We design the part, build the tool, and run production, under one roof in Gujarat.
Tooling and production, engineered as one project, not two quotes
- DFM review before a single tool is cut, so part geometry, wall thickness, and draft angles are resolved on screen, not at the mold
- Bridge tooling (aluminum) for a first run of 100 to 10,000 parts, before committing to full production steel tooling
- Mold ownership stated explicitly in the manufacturing agreement, under India’s common-law legal system with English-language contracts
- No fixed minimum order quantity, sized to your first production run, not a high-volume minimum
- ISO 9001 quality process, with an inspection report before every shipment
- The same team can take the finished part into a full box build, PCB assembly through final enclosure, if your product needs it

Our Injection Molding & Tooling Process
The same process whether you need a single bridge-tooled batch or a full production tool.
Design Review & DFM
Your part geometry is reviewed for moldability: wall thickness, draft angles, undercuts, and gate placement, before any tooling is quoted.
Tooling Path Decision
Bridge (aluminum) tooling for a first run or low volume, or full production steel tooling for volume, decided against your real quantity, not a default.
Tool Build & Trial
The mold is built and trialed for fill, cooling, and part release before it is signed off for production.
Production & Inspection
Parts are molded and inspected against your drawing, with a report before every shipment.
Shipping, or Straight Into a Box Build
Finished parts ship to the USA, or move directly into assembly if the project includes a box build.
Where This Work Applies
The part changes, but the same DFM, tooling, and production discipline applies across categories.
Housings, enclosures, and everyday products engineered for repeatable, volume production.
Functional, industrial-grade components built for continuous duty, not cosmetic display parts.
Enclosures and structural components engineered around the electronics they house.
Molded components designed for reliable fit and repeatable production.
Housings for connected devices, engineered alongside the PCB and firmware when a full box build is in scope.
Bridge-tooled first batches for teams validating a product before a full production tooling investment.
What US Brands Ask Before Choosing an Indian Injection Molding Partner
Why choose India over China for injection molding right now?
The tariff math currently favors it: plastics from India sit at a roughly 0 to 6.5 percent MFN tariff band, while Chinese-origin polymer parts carry stacked Section 301 duties in the 25 to 50 percent range, and Chinese-made molds carry an additional 25 percent tariff of their own. This is a dated, current fact, not an evergreen claim, and worth re-verifying against the live tariff schedule before a large tooling commitment.
Who actually owns the mold, and what stops it being reused for another customer?
You do, outright and immediately, not after hitting a volume target. Mold ownership is stated explicitly in the manufacturing agreement before tooling starts, there is no amortization clause and no lien on the tool, and we never resell it, repurpose it, or run it for another customer. India also runs a common-law legal system with English-language contracts, a structural difference from China’s civil-law framework, where protecting a mold typically requires a specialized NNN agreement built around Chinese court enforceability. All manufacturing is done in-house on our own floor, nothing is subcontracted to China or a third-country vendor, so your mold and design files never leave our facility.
Can we start with bridge tooling instead of committing to full production steel tooling?
Yes. Aluminum bridge tooling is a real staged option for a first run in the 100 to 10,000 part range, letting you validate the part and the market before the larger investment in full multi-cavity steel tooling.
What is the minimum order quantity to get a real quote?
None, we work at zero MOQ. We work with founders on their first production run, not only high-volume repeat orders, so a batch size a large molder would turn away is a normal starting point for us.
Can you handle more than the plastic part, like the PCB and final assembly?
Yes, if your product needs it. Injection molding through box build, PCB assembly, firmware, and final enclosure, is handled by one team, not handed off between vendors. For the full design-and-manufacturing story beyond tooling specifically, see our Indian Manufacturing Partner page.
Can your tooling hit the cosmetic or consumer-electronics finish quality we need, or only industrial-grade parts?
Honestly: our real strength is industrial and functional-grade tooling, proven on shipped USA products. For the very highest-gloss cosmetic consumer-electronics finishes, some specialized shops elsewhere may still hold an edge, and we would rather tell you that directly than overclaim it.
How does communication and DFM turnaround actually work across time zones?
Every enquiry gets a response within 24 hours from a real engineer, not an auto-reply, and India Standard Time gives a real working-hours overlap with US morning hours.
Does working with an Indian manufacturing partner mean giving up US-level quality control?
No. Every batch runs under a documented ISO 9001 process, with dimensional inspection against your drawing and a report sent before dispatch, not just a promise.
