Landed Cost Calculator
Compare what a part really costs at your door, from your current supplier and from India.
A unit price is only part of the cost. Enter the quotes you have, the freight, the duty rate and any extra tariff on the country of origin, and see the delivered cost per part side by side: your current supplier against CADLETE in India, or any two offers you are weighing. It runs in your browser, with your own numbers.
The calculator works the way customs does: the goods value from unit price and quantity, insurance as a share of that value, the customs value on an FOB or CIF basis, duty and extra tariffs on the customs value, then import VAT or GST on the customs value plus duty. If your company reclaims import VAT, it is left out of the cost per part. Duty rates change often, so the tool asks for them rather than guessing.

Questions About Landed Cost Calculator
What is landed cost?
Everything a part costs once it reaches you: the unit price, freight, insurance, duty, any extra tariffs, import tax you cannot reclaim and customs broker fees. Comparing landed cost, not unit price, shows the real difference between two suppliers.
Where do I find the duty rate for my part?
It depends on the HS code of the part and the country you import into: the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule, the EU TARIC database or the UK Trade Tariff. Your customs broker can confirm the code and the rate. Rates and extra tariffs change often, so check them on the day you compare.
Should I use FOB or CIF as the customs value?
Use what your country uses. The United States, Canada and Australia usually charge duty on the value without international freight (FOB); the European Union, the United Kingdom and Singapore include freight and insurance (CIF). Your broker can confirm it for your shipment.
Does CADLETE quote a delivered price?
Yes. When you send your files, your engineer can quote the parts with freight, insurance and duty to your door (DDP), stating the date of the duty rates used, so you have one number to compare.
