Strength training without loading the grip
Strength training often relies on handles and straps that route the load through the hands, wrists, elbows or knees. For people dealing with joint pain, tendinitis, arthritis, grip problems or recovery from injury, that can make key exercises uncomfortable or impossible.
Our client’s product addresses this with a patent-pending, grip-free cable attachment that loads above the elbow or knee. Moving the load point lets users isolate the target muscle while taking stress off the joint, and the same device works for upper and lower body exercises.
The client came to CADLETE Designs to turn the idea into a manufacturable product and to manage its production and supply chain.
The goal
A reliable, consumer-ready fitness product, produced consistently at volume and delivered to market without the client managing tooling, factories or shipping.
A concept that has to take real gym loads
The cuff had to be designed from nothing, survive daily use on cable machines, mold consistently in plastic, and reach customers without the client running the logistics.
From idea to product
The client started with a concept, so the complete product had to be designed from the ground up.
Designing for plastic production
The plastic parts had to follow injection molding requirements so they could be produced consistently at volume.
A product that takes load
As an attachment used with cable machines, it had to be robust in everyday training.
A complete supply chain
Beyond design and production, the client needed a partner to manage logistics and delivery.
From concept to volume production
Five stages, shown with the real prototype, molds, molding machine and production batches from this project.
Stage 01 · Product design
The concept, designed into a complete product
We designed the product from scratch, developing the client’s concept into a complete, manufacturable design.
The cuff sits above the elbow or knee, where the cable load is taken instead of in the hand.

A molding-ready DFM design
We created a molding-ready DFM design for the plastic parts, preparing them for efficient, repeatable injection molding.
Early molded parts show the shape that design produced: a folded shell that wraps the limb.

Questions about this project
What is a grip-free cable attachment?
It is a cuff that connects a cable machine to the arm or leg above the elbow or knee, so the load is not held in the hand. That lets users isolate the target muscle while taking stress off the joint, for upper and lower body exercises.
Can CADLETE design a fitness product from just a concept?
Yes. This product started as the client’s concept. CADLETE designed it from scratch, made it ready for injection molding, built the molds, produced it at volume and runs the supply chain.
What does DFM mean for a plastic fitness product?
Design for manufacturing shapes each plastic part so it molds efficiently and repeatably. For this cuff the parts were designed to injection molding requirements before the molds were made, so they could be produced consistently at volume.
Does CADLETE make its own injection molds?
For this product, yes: the injection molds were created by CADLETE, then used for volume production.
Can CADLETE manage the supply chain after production?
Yes. Here CADLETE manages the end-to-end supply chain, logistics included, so finished products reach the client ready for sale.
Will my product idea stay confidential?
Yes. CADLETE signs a non-disclosure agreement before any technical information is shared, so your design files and IP stay yours. It is also why this story does not name the client.
