Foldable Travel Shower Chair: Independence on the Move
For people with limited mobility, showering while traveling or staying in hotels can be difficult. Using a regular wheelchair in the shower exposes it to water and creates handling and transport problems.
CADLETE Designs developed a compact, foldable shower chair that can be carried and transported like a suitcase. When needed, the user unfolds the chair, transfers onto it and showers comfortably. Afterwards, it folds back into a compact, travel-friendly form that is easy to carry and store.
We took the product from concept and industrial design through to a functional prototype made with sheet metal fabrication, then tested it to validate the folding mechanism, usability and portability.
The project is now in its next stage, as we make the design more compact, lightweight and optimized for injection molding, creating a scalable, production-friendly version.
