Laser Hole Pointer: Drill Once, Mark the Other Wall Perfectly
When pipes pass through two facing walls, plumbers have to measure carefully to line up the holes. A tech-savvy plumber in the USA brought this problem to CADLETE Designs, looking for a faster, more accurate way.
The solution is simple to use. The plumber drills one hole, fits the device into the pipe, and a laser shows exactly where to mark the centre of the hole on the opposite wall. No repeated measuring, and far less room for error.
We designed the prototype with inspiration from a latch chuck mechanism, so it opens and closes easily and fits any pipe size. The functional prototype worked so successfully that the client now wants to bring the product to market in bulk quantities.
CADLETE is currently helping optimize the design for low cost and DFM for injection molding, preparing this practical tool for volume production.
