DIY Hologram STEM Kit: Laser-Cut MDF Design and Volume Production

Hologram STEM Kit: From 3D Printed Prototype to Volume-Produced Kit
Our client wanted a hands-on STEM kit that lets users interact with 3D digital models through a hologram effect. CADLETE Designs designed the complete DIY kit, combining a physical structure with commercial-grade optical materials.
A kit like this depends on its parts and optics working together, so we started by 3D printing early prototypes. This allowed the structure and overall concept to be checked physically before moving to the final production method.
Once validated, the design was developed in textured MDF for laser cutting, a process better suited to volume production. We also designed the packaging, and the complete kit was taken into volume production.
This project shows a smart prototyping path: 3D printing for fast early validation, then switching to the most efficient manufacturing process for scale.
