Water Flosser for Oral Care

PCB Design & DevelopmentProduct DesignElectronicsInjection Molding
Water flosser with PCB, heating element, and dual-liquid compartment

About this project

We designed a next-generation water flosser with features not common in standard models, aimed at a more comfortable and versatile oral hygiene routine.

What we did

  • Feature innovation: We added the ability to warm the water for a gentler clean, plus a dual-liquid system that lets users run two different liquids, such as mouthwash and water, from the same compartment.

  • Reverse engineering: We started by reverse-engineering an existing water flosser to fully understand its working principles and find real opportunities for improvement.

  • Housing and molding design: Molding-ready housing files were built fully optimized for injection molding and mass production.

  • Electronics and PCB development: We designed the full electrical schematic and PCB layout, integrating the heating element and fluid control system.

  • Proof of concept testing: A working proof-of-concept model validated the electronics, heating element, and overall system performance.

  • Complex assembly design: The assembly structure of 15-plus interlocking parts was engineered to bring every mechanical and electronic component together seamlessly.
